What a performance. 4-0 over Argentina.

The Germans outdid Argentina in every way that mattered, in defence, attack, organisation and belief. It was the biggest test for Argentina and Maradona, and they failed big time.

Moreover, countries like Australia and England would do well to learn from Germany's overhaul of their youth system. Their fluke run to the 2002 final masked the fact that the German game was in serious decline, but they realised that, overhauled the system, and since 2006 the rewards have come.

As much as I hate ze Germanz, I'll admit, they were very impressive and not only in this game, but against us and England also.

It was a shock to see Argentina crumble like they did, basically giving up after the 2nd goal went in.

I guess, looking back at it now, our 4-0 loss against them doesn't seem so bad..

the 3 teams that germany have smashed have given them all the time an space in the world in the midfield, Spain won't do that and it will be a different ballgame for them. Will be interesting to see how they go, plus Mueller is a big loss for them.

thats ecatly what i was saying when i watched this game and knew that they would be playing spain. Spain will starve them off the ball and frustrate the hell out of them. they wont have all the space that has been provided to them. will be interested to see how the youngsters handle their frustrations. i think spain will win this one. germany wont know what to do once 70 mins have passed with no goals, they will lose their heads and spain will put one away.

Is it just me but it seems that others keep struggling with the Jubalani ball whilst the Germans keep
making pinpoint pass after pinpoint pass. I guess them already played with it for 3-6 months before
the world cup has not given them any sort of unfair advantage. Shame on you FIFA, shame on you
Adidas.

Not taking away anything from the German's, but it annoys me when you obviously see other teams
which are professional struggling with that Jubalani ball. All i wanted to see was better and more
closer contests.

So you're saying every league on the world should have used the Jabulani ball in anticipation of the World Cup?

Nothing like ignoring the facts to make a good story.

EPL, La Liga, Serie A et al, were offered the use of the Jabulani the same time the Bundesliga was offered it but turned it down as they had deals in place with other manufacturers.

Add to that the England FA lost the 25 balls they were sent in January.

@DV: Uh, yes. Makes sense, no?

It aint the Jabaulani

Its Germany deciding, after a period of underperformance, that they will overhaul everything, bring in a system that made sense, and coaches to support it. Klinsmann started it, then demanded Loew, his assistant, follow up, and now the rewards are coming

i dont really think germany got frustrated though. i think because spain had so much possession, germany was always chasing. when they finally got the ball, they were too exaughsted to implement that deadly-fast counter-attack.

funnily enough though, spain didn't score through there amazing passing. it was a set peice.
