I know its a bit of a non-story but in the Tiser Doddy sez he may not be captain this season due to him not speaking with Coolio yet.

So if Doddy isn't who should?

Fyfe was at Sydney, i would have said Rudan if he was still here, but i think Euge would have to get it!

Euge is the obvious candidate.

But so long as Lucas gets nowhere near that armband, I'm content.

Reid could be a decent captain if he's gonna stay fit this season, he's had plenty of experiance and should start most games if he's fit.

tbh i dunno wether i would like Eugene to have it,sure he's one of if not out best i'm just not sure wether a g/k is the best guy to have the armband.

I wouldn't be against Cornthwaite getting it tbh, he might not be the most talented guy out there but he always gives 100% when he's on the pitch.

When there's no guarantee that Reid can sustain any form of fitness for more than a few games, it's not worth taking the risk of relying on that to happen.

What's wrong with having a 'keeper as a captain? It happens at many clubs and with many national teams (Spain springs to mind instantly).
Besides, Eugene proved to be a good captain in his few games with the armband last season. Can only get better in that position.

Nothing against him at all, but does Flakes even have leadership qualities? He doesn't look the type to me who could captain a side.

I don't think I would worry too much about offering it to Euge...

i think barbiero would be a candidate if he found regular game time.

has been awarded the team man of the year 2 years in a row also, so he obviously has that respect already

Respect isn't leadership. A captain should have leadership.

Cassio always plays with his heart.
Would love for him to be captain as he would never stop trying. Dont know how good of a leader he would be though, not sure how is english is.

There's no gaurantee any player will stay fit all season, but there has never been any problem with Reid's form.
Personally i like my captain to be an outfield player as i believe they can have more of an influence on the game and ref whilst showing leadership to the younger players. Just a personal preferance, plus with Eugene looking to head o/s i would rather a guy who's comitted 100% to being at the club.

I think Flakes is the most natural leader we have at the club tbh, he is vocal on the pitch and the main organiser of the defence. Plus he's almost gauranteed to start everygame as our no1 CB.

The correct answer is 'none - they're both awesome' ;)
