If we're brutally honest... it wasn't one of the great World Cups in terms of quality of football. Too much tediousness from quite a few teams.

But Spain were worthy winners. Eternally patient and incisive, did it the right way and got their reward. The Dutch tactics in the final were quite appalling, disgusting anti-football.

Germany and Chile showed youthful exuberance and were among the most exciting teams in the World Cup, but a lack of solid experience let them down. Brazil and Argentina, on the other hand, lacked actual mental toughness and this showed as they capitulated pitifully. It was still a good World Cup for South America, since Uruguay and Paraguay did very well and unlike Brazil or Argentina, actually fought to the end.

Teams like England, France and Italy all sucked but this wasn't really unexpected. And Australia? If only, but that one game really killed us.

So there you have it. In the meantime, we have the Asian Cup, Copa America, African Cup of Nations, and the European Championships to get through as far as the international game is concerned. Let's hope these have less tediousness than this World Cup. Farken hell.
