It should be as simple as saying: surely the only way is up. New coach, new era- will it translate to better quality football? This league isn't going to get easier, and teams are getting better, and United badly need to raise their game. We could see good signs at the end of last season and in the ACL, but with a change of coach.

Of course, a much-needed overseas coach is expected to bring improvements in all aspects of the game at the club. Let's see if he can.

To be honest there are too many ifs to say we'll be up there this year. I hope Coolio brings the beans but there are quite a few factors on the field that must work for us to be successful
1 SVD needs to score at least 15 goals
2 Flores must remain fit and harden up to the league
3 Reid must remain fit all season
4 Dodd must remain fit
5 Pants must lift his game to warrant the VC
6 If Euge is to leave Birra must keep the GK-ing bar we have high

There are other factors but they are the main ones

One other factor is the crowds. We still need to keep turning up to see our REDS!

Other factors would be,
1: If Pantelis or Dodd is playing below standard, then they should be dropped,
to the bench.
2: Pick the best team, not the highest profile players.

i disagree, this year for us to top 4 i believe the likes of costa, monty birra, shin and that new fella to step up and put pressure on the older guys.

i feel AU is much the same has a similar predicament as the crows, who had many older legends of the club not performing.

The trouble is with this league every year the teams get stronger by a substantial amount, so even though clearly we have a stronger squad this year , so does everyone else

But with a change of coach, what? Finish your sentence.

1. Why? He hasn't scored that many in his other A-League seasons. Anything around 10 would/should be good enough.
2. Not promising.
3. As above.
4. As above.
5. As above but about a million times less promising.
6. We already know that he's capable of stepping up.

SVD has averaged around a goal every 2 games for the Roar so i would hope he gets around the 15 mark in a 30 round season.
