Just read on Adelaide Now that we are taking michael Ferrante on Trial...We are also trailing an Ex-Sydney FC Youth and a player from the VPL

Would seem to be a journeyman, but who knows i guess. You would think we still need a striker also.

thoughts??

I thought Farrante was unlucky not a hold down a starting possie for the Nix. He reminds me a bit of Spags except he's few years older. Looking at his career i think he needs to score a few more goals if he wants to be an attacking midfielder, but wiki sez he was West Ham's youth team captain back when Joe Cole and Michael Carrick were in that squad as well. That squad won the youth F.A. Cup.

Iain Ramsay is an exciting prospect Sydney FC's youth player of the year last season if he won't be a break out player i don't know who will!

I'm not sure about Greg Lombardo but if the VPL keep on their track record of producing talent then he'll surely be good!

Iain Ramsay's last season porduced 5 goals from 20 appearances for the Sydney FC's youth squad and he made his A-league debut in the Semi-Finals.

I wonder if this was somehow part of the Jambo deal? Verbal agreement perhaps

I honestly dont know but one would hope he's a better player now then he was when he left us after HALv1.

He has signed for West Adelaide in the Premier League also, so maybe his overseas adventure is over??

I: bring the bogan!
Ramsey is the youth player that most SFC forumites wanted onto the senior list this season, could be a handy pickup by the club if he impresses.
Wouldn't mid it if the club looked at Munro from their youth as well, played DM for them and many regard him as one of the standouts in the youth league last season. With our lack of depth in that possie he could be a good squadie to have.

How did Ferrante go, does anyone know?

Personally, I would have preferred us to be trialling Caceres who was also released by Wellington.

I was thinking the same thing considering how Dodd will struggle to be fit by the start of the season. He would have been great cover for Doddy
